While Geralt and Jaskill try to gather information on Riens, Yennefer takes Ciri back to Aretuza. Two women hide as best they can as they travel through the Northern Kingdoms, where political instability has turned monarchs against each other. Ciri is haunted by the death and destruction she encounters on her journey. Worse, instead of helping her control her visions of the future, Ciri’s magical training made them more frequent and intense. This is how Ciri correctly predicts that a Redanian commander named Applegate is going to shoot an arrow in his direction, which happens later in the episode.

As they try to remain anonymous, Yennefer keeps Ciri out of Aplegat’s affairs. However, once Ciri saw an enslaved child beaten to death, she freed the child, drawing the wrath of their master. Yennefer is forced to intervene, killing a man who turns out to be one of Huvinagel’s men. Juvenagle, a powerful landowner and cousin of bounty hunter Leo Bonhardt, will no doubt be sent north to find those responsible for the crime. So while saving one child, Ciri may have doomed dozens to be tortured and killed by Leo Bonhardt.

To explain to Ciri how dangerous it is to interfere with fate, Yennefer takes the girl back to her birthplace and shows her the horrors she must endure. Yennefer explains how she was sold to Tishaya (mianna berlin) was brought to Arethusa by her family and taught how to channel Chaos. Yennefer also explains that her desire to go her own way prompted her to free Cahill (Eamon Farron), which led to the Northern Kingdoms turning their backs on the Wizarding Brotherhood and the current unrest in Arethusa. It was an emotional moment when Ciri realized she was not alone and that Yennefer might be the only person on the continent who understood what she was going through.

Since Yennefer is a pariah of Aretuza, she writes a letter to Tishaya warning her of her journey. Yennefer doesn’t know if she will be forgiven, which is why she prefers to warn Tishaya of her arrival. Tishaya wasn’t sure if she should welcome Ciri. However, thanks to Vilgefortz for his support and kindness (Mahesh Jadu), Tishaya agrees to meet Yennefer and perhaps take her to Aretuza.

Things didn’t go so well for Aretuza, however. In Season 3, Episode 2, we see members of the Wizarding Brotherhood battling each other over the best way to rebuild their fractured relationship with the Northern Kingdoms. There’s also the mysterious disappearance of a young student, Nissa, who leaves nothing but blood on her bedroom wall before disappearing. The bloodstains were discovered by Triss (Anna Shaffer), became a teacher in Arethusa after leaving Temeria. We can’t tell if the student’s bloody disappearance is related to the fraternity row. Still, the second episode of season three highlighted something dark going on in Arethusa.

Speaking of Nilfgaard, Season 3 Episode 2 also revealed that Fringilla (Mimi Ndiveni) was imprisoned in the dungeon after betraying Bai Yan. Fringilla was tasting wine every day to make sure no one was trying to poison Emhyr, and waiting for her body to give up and die from the alcohol overdose. Because, when one of her cellmates died, she hid in a body bag and was taken away by soldiers who handled the body.

Although Dijkstra was initially silent, after Radovid revealed King Vizimir (Ed Birch) after a secret meeting with Nilfgaard, the spymaster begins to see the value in the young prince.

Finally, Riens visits Codlinger and Finn to find out what they said to Geralt. Investigators assured the villains they had not revealed the identity of Riens’ owner. Unfortunately, when Codlinger accidentally reveals that they know Riens’ master’s true intentions towards Ciri, the Fire Mage tortures the investigators to extract their secret, then burns them alive in the shop. To make matters even more suspicious, Reans escaped through a portal, followed by an owl. The owl is Philippa’s preferred form, suggesting that Redania’s mage has some kind of relationship with Riens – or may be spying on him himself.

Soon, Geralt discovers a grisly experiment in the castle’s dungeon, a monster of flesh and blood made from the body parts of several women. Although they do not have full control over their massive bodies, they are still aware of their dire situation. To make matters worse, there is also a sickly girl (Francis Pooley) in the basement, with green eyes and light hair, he seemed unaffected by the grotesque experiments

Although the women involved in this disturbing experience called for Geralt’s help, he was forced to kill the beast when it threatened the young girl’s life. Geralt saves the girl who looks a bit like Ciri. When the girl wakes up and meets her savior, she reveals that she is actually Ciri.
