Geralt and Yennefer bonded from the beginning, but they often discussed how their evenings ended with one of them leaving in the morning. The truth is, while there’s definitely something between them, neither was willing to admit it during the first season’s time-jumping story. When they met in season 2, new problems arose – namely, that Yennefer lost her powers after using fire magic, and the only way she could find to regain them was to give Ciri to the undead mother. While Yennefer hesitated and eventually decided against it, Geralt could not forgive her for even considering this action. This is where their relationship kicks off in season three.

This time, it’s not just fate that forces them to come together, because Ciri needs both of them. While Geralt stubbornly refuses to talk to Yennefer at first, they eventually pick up where they left off, with one key difference: this time, no one can leave. Faced with their history, Geralt and Yennefer finally had a long overdue discussion – but Geralt could only say in a letter as he left to track down their enemy, the fire mage Reans certain words (Sam Woolf) at the end of the first episode. This slow-burning romance made us expect more from these two, and thankfully, season three didn’t hold them back.

By the last episode of the first volume, the couple had come a long way. Geralt joins Yennefer at the Mages’ Conference Ball, which is actually their first public date, and their relationship continues to grow during this event. Despite their other goals at the party, the two danced, kissed, and basically became a couple. A lot happens in a few hours, including a fight over Yennefer (staged) between Geralt and her first love, Eastred (Royce Pearson). Of course, everyone present felt the love between Geralt and Yennefer, and fans of the duo were not disappointed. For the first time Geralt managed to express his love, which was not an easy task for this taciturn character. To his surprise, he’s never said those words out loud before, proving he’s felt this way for a long time, but it’s still a big moment in their relationship, culminating in a kiss in front of everyone in a packed ballroom. .

Geralt and Yennefer seem to have another night of new understanding, anticipating that this is just the beginning of a reconciliation. Unfortunately, the plan didn’t take into account the dramatic twist at the end, but there was no shortage of passionate moments either. Aside from the undeniable chemistry between Geralt and Yennefer, they are a great team. The Aretuzan Ball is not strictly a romantic event, as they attend it to expose Stregobor (Lars Mikkelsen) as their anonymous enemy. When Geralt wanted to storm and attack, Yennefer brought a more strategic approach that was better for the team. However, she wouldn’t be able to pull it off without Geralt’s quick thinking and willingness to agree with her plan, which isn’t even the most compelling part of their team.

As they discussed the party, they each sorted out different clues and found that they were wrong about Stregober and that the real enemy was the more cunning Wilgfurts (Mahesh Jadu). These signs are small, but add up to a big deal. Few are able to piece it together, especially with so many distractions, but Geralt and Yennefer are unique. Their complementary strengths make them a formidable duo to be reckoned with, and as they continue to work together to protect Ciri, they’ll have more opportunities to show what they’re capable of. Season three didn’t disappoint fans of the duo, and promised more when it returned for the final three episodes. With plenty of threats still remaining, Geralt and Yennefer need to focus their talents again and hopefully share more of the night.

that wizard Season 3, Volume 1 is currently streaming on Netflix. Volume 2 will be released on July 27.
